Meet the industry pioneers confirmed to speak

The next edition in the leading global event series for the Industrial Internet of Things

The Made Smarter Review highlighted the potential for an Industrie 4.0 revolution in the U.K. Over 10 years industrial digitalisation could boost UK manufacturing by £455bn, increasing sector growth up to 3% per year, and creating a net gain of 175,000 jobs whilst reducing CO2 emissions by 4.5%.

However, the ‘Review also highlighted significant challenges that need to be overcome before industrial digitalisation can become a widespread reality. The Internet of Manufacturing UK conference will examine in granular detail, the areas of attention that were highlighted by Made Smarter so that attendees leave with tailored roadmaps to the adoption of an Industrial Digitalisation Strategy. Our research shows…

The UK manufacturing industry is on the up. Britain is now the 8th largest manufacturer in the world by output.

However, with only 11% of manufacturers agreed that the sector was geared up to take advantage of Industry 4.0 in late 2016, there is still some way to go before the UK sector truly takes advantage of associated technologies like IoT.

While the potential of IoT may be obvious, there needs to be more clarity around existing issues. For instance, only 35% of UK manufacturers believe that current internet connection is adequate for their needs over the next five years. It’s certainly an exciting time for UK manufacturers looking to adopt IoT and through careful navigation of current challenges, this outlook is only going to improve.
