As Region Director and Community Director at Make UK, Jim and his team help thousands of manufacturers to solve some of their biggest challenges - whether its how to benefit from 4IR, actions to take on their Brexit journey or how to use the apprenticeship levy to upskill the workforce. This is achieved through a unique on-line and off-line community which connects peers and experts together with resources and guidance which are hard to find elsewhere, combined with a powerful network of manufacturing contacts across the South of England.
Prior to this, Jim held a number of senior leadership roles at EEF including Region Director and Operations Manager in the South. He was responsible for developing and growing EEF's manufacturing membership and campaigning to government at local, regional and national level for the issues that matter to them most. As a qualified engineer, Jim has held manufacturing production engineering and operations roles including EMI Music and Entertainment UK. He was also a senior manufacturing specialist whilst at the Manufacturing Advisory Board Service, where he delivered consultancy support to businesses which enabled them to make huge improvements in their productivity and competitiveness. Jim is also a Director of the Engineering Development Trust.
