As a member of the IfM ECS team, Liz works with companies of all shapes and sizes to help them develop their business strategies and build the operational capabilities they need to create sustainable step changes in business performance and profitability. She leads the IfM ECS participation in the Government-funded Sharing in Growth activity, a £110m programme of intensive supplier development in the UK aerospace and nuclear industries.
Liz also works closely with the IfM's Distributed Information and Automation Laboratory research group in developing and applying approaches for advanced factory design and automation. Projects have been completed with a range of companies, including Foxconn, Liang O'Rouke and Jaguar Land Rover.
Before joining IfM ECS in 2010, Liz had more than 15 years experience in manufacturing, with senior operations roles in operations management and manufacturing engineering. She initially built her career in the electronics industry, in an environment of of highly configurable, build-to-order, complex electronic products on short lead times. She also worked extensively as a management consultant and project manager for a range of manufacturing companies. As a project manager, Liz has led projects in lead time reduction, delivery performance improvement, product transfers, cost reduction, resource planning, new product introcution and strategic reviews.
Liz has a Masters Degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Cambridge University.
